New Service: Gleeson Delivers & Gleeson Pages

Last Wednesday the Access Services Department began a great new on-campus delivery and paging service. It's currently being tested and isn't yet widespreadly publicized.

Basically, students, staff and faculty can request books to be paged from the stacks. Students and staff can then pick up the books at the circulation desk. Faculty can request the books be delivered to their on-campus department.

Click the "Request" button in a book's record.

See the websites for more info! Faculty Delivery and student and staff paging.

Feel free to encourage a patron to use the services if s/he comes across it on their own. Also, if any questions arise feel free to send a patron over to the Access Services department (aka the Circulation Desk) for further help.

What do you think is the best part about this? The worst?
I am afraid it will make patrons lazy but in general it reinforces what we already know: Gleeson Rocks!

Paper Supply and Toner Instructions

Paper Supply and Used Toner Cartridges Instructions

Paper Supply

The main supply of paper for the library is stored in the Reference storage closet. Reference student assistants are responsible for stocking the paper supply cupboard with paper from the supply closet.

Instructions:

1. Bring 3-4 boxes of paper (10 reams in each box) out of the supply closet when the number of reams in the cupboard drops to 5 or 6. Using a book cart to do this is quite handy.

2. After emptying the boxes, break them down (you can rip them apart with your hands or use a box-cutter) and deposit the flat cardboard by or in the recycling bins in Technical Services. If you do not know where these recycling bins are, ask someone and they will tell you.

3. Don’t be surprised if the supply diminishes quickly—Periodicals, in addition to Technical Services and Circulation, will pick up paper here.

4. If you notice the number of boxes in the supply closet has dropped below 5, let Kelci know. She will order more.

Used Toner Cartridges

We recycle the used toner cartridges. There are two ways to accomplish this.

Instructions:

1. After removing the new toner cartridge, place the used cartridge inside plastic wrap and put it inside the box. Leave the mailing label in the box.

2. Give the used toner cartridge box to the Office Depot/USF deliveryman when he brings boxes of paper. ~OR~

3. Write
To: Purchasing
Attn: Arthur

On a scrap card and tape it to the top of the used toner cartridge box. After 2 or 3 have accumulated in the closet, take them over to the outgoing mail table in the back of Access Services.

Deliveries of Paper and Other Supplies

When Kelci orders paper, an Office Depot delivery person will wheel the delivery into the library. When this person asks you for Kelci...

Instructions:

1. Open up the storage closet and have the delivery person put the paper in there.

2. Call Kelci so she can sign for the delivery.

3. If Kelci is not available to sign for the delivery, you or a librarian can sign for it. Just make sure the paperwork gets to Kelci's mailbox or desk.
