~*THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE OBSOLETE DUE TO THE NEW SET-UP DESCRIBED HERE*~

Scenario: Printer #2 is hung up on a long, slow, big job that's taking 40 minutes to print. You want everyone to send their print jobs to printer #3 but it's getting exhausting trying to catch every patron! What to do?

In the past we were basically stuck being exhausted and trying to catch patrons before they pay for their jobs. Not anymore!

Randy discovered a way in the GoPrint admin site to make all print jobs go to whichever printer you designate.

Get ready, cause I'm about to show you how...........

Step 1: Log into the GoPrint admin site

Step 2: Go into the printer menu for the one you no longer want to print (e.g. in the example above, go to GL_REF2). Chose the menu on the second half of the screen, under PayPoints, not the one at the top, which is under Print Servers.

Step 3: Click on the QUEUES menu

Step 4: Under Printing Options, click the drop-down menu under Primary Printer and select the printer you want the jobs to go to. (e.g. in our example, GL_REF3)

Step 5: Under Printing Options, click the drop-down menu under Redirect Options and select Send Print Jobs to the Primary Printer.

Step 6: Click SAVE. You're set!

How do you like? Did you try it? Did it work? Makes life a little more easy... y/n?

ok so I just read this, but I also read the newest one and so, we no longer have to worry about these directions? I'm a little confused. I understand it's good to know these directions but I am a little lost about them as well. As for the directions above, how is is that the computer knows what print job we want to re-direct?

yes, these directions are good to know, but hopefully won't be necessary any more. i should actually probably delete this message to avoid further confusion
